What is it?

Increasing numbers of people struggle with various diseases at some point in their lives. The problem seems to be worsening, as the population expands and society becomes more diverse. Wouldn't it be wonderful if cures were readily available to treat every disease? Unfortunately, some diseases remain untreatable, but prevention is always a possibility if the Disease Susceptibility Genetic (Inherited) Test is applied. This is the state-of-the-art method of identifying any underlying susceptibility to human diseases held by a set of identified genes. This test enables us to determine certain genetic variations and provides a better understanding of diseases that may have been inherited.

The Disease Susceptibility Genetic (Inherited) Test will enable you to discover if inherited diseases are hidden in your child's body. Genes are inherited from our parents, so inherent diseases can develop when genetic changes take place or certain environmental factors come into play. In addition, acquired diseases can be passed to the next generation and are those that build up during a person's lifetime as a result of factors such as environmental stress, unhealthy diet or prolonged exposure to contaminated environments, such as hospitals, laboratories and unhygienic conditions.

After identifying the diseases to which your children may be susceptible, you can make a difference while they are still young. For example, if a child's genetic report shows a high risk of bone density loss, parents can customize the youngster's diet by including foods that contain high levels of calcium, vitamin D and other nutrients. According to the November 2003 edition of "The Journal of the American Medical Association" only 18% of children found to have certain genetic conditions following by medical screening were required to be hospitalized. In comparison, 55% of children with conditions identified by clinical diagnosis were hospitalized. This data demonstrates that the earlier genetic diseases are identified, the greater the chances of preventing a disease from developing by adopting appropriate treatment, a better diet and healthier habits.
